IPM were appointed as Project Managers for the Millennium Wing extension of the National Gallery of Ireland. As the site is located in an architecturally sensitive conservation area within a precinct that encompasses some of Dublin’s most significant Georgian buildings, the project necessitated significant consideration and meticulous planning at all stages of the process from feasibility and design response, through to the logistics of construction and commissioning. The interconnection and interaction of the extension with the existing Gallery building were and remain key to the successful operation and management of the extended Gallery. Completed in 2002 and comprising gallery space, a museum, library, auditorium, restaurant, shop and a conservation / restoration area, the Millennium Wing has become one of the most visited attractions in Ireland since.
